He used to do it for fun, mainly producing plot and background settings for Live Roleplaying (LRP), but has since worked out that people might actually want to give him money for it.
He lives in Manchester in the UK with his wife and a fox terrier cross called Eddie. In previous lives he has lived in Birmingham and Manchester again but originally comes from the North East of the UK. As a result of all this moving around, he has developed a strange accent which isn't quite from any of the places he has ever lived. On more than one occasion, he has been mistaken for a foreigner because of this. This includes a time standing in a bar next to a Pole and a Lithuanian and still apparently seeming more foreign than the two of them.
As a Live Roleplayer, he occasionally spends weekends as someone else in an alternate dimension or timeline. This is nothing to worry about and is perfectly normal and should adequately explain any unusual photographs of him you should happen to find online.
In 2006 he joined the BBW Romance Writers group, an online community dedicated to supporting the inclusion of realistic body shapes for women. He did this as a challenge, seeing romance plots as a weakness in his writing despite them being ubiquitous to all genres. From that association he has made many good friends and learned a lot about writing. He is also a former member of the Dreaming In Ink critique group, a fantastic group of writers who have been a great help to his development, and a current member of the Absolute Write forum which is a wonderful place peopled by a myriad of experienced writers.
He is only just starting out as a professional writer with his first publications. In 2011 he released a short story entitled ‘Gods of the Sea’ in the Pirates and Swashbucklers anthology
